Commission Rules
The Commission Rule page is used to define the Commission Rules. The page has the FastTabs General, Items, and Salespersons for the Transaction calculation type.
Note: When the calculation type is Sales Target, the Targets FastTab is added.
You define the Commission Rule by filling out the relevant fields on all FastTabs. There is a Code for each rule that identifies it.
A Commission Rule has two Calculation Types: Transaction and Sales Target. If you select the Transaction type, the commission is paid on each transaction, but not until the target specified in the Calculation Type field has been reached (if specified at all).
-
Select the Excluding check box on the Items FastTab to exclude a group of items from the rule.
- Select the Line Specific check box on the General FastTab to specify that the sales commission is to be calculated on each line of the transaction instead of on the transactions as a whole.
Note: If the Line Specific check box is not selected, you must specify a value in the Value field.
The Priority field on the General FastTab decides the priority of the rule compared to other existing rules.
- Click the Enable action to enable the commission rule.
Test Commission
Use the Test Commission action on the Navigate action menu to check if a commission is valid for a certain sale. This action displays the Test Sales Commission card and tests the commission rule that you are using.
- Fill in the mandatory fields for the sales person and sales you want to check.
- Click the Run action and the commissions for the sale you are checking will be displayed. The test also reveals the priorities of the sales commission rules, if there is more than one rule present.
