How to: Calculate Variant Weight Curve
A Variant Weight Curve can be defined manually or calculated based on an item or item group's sales historical data. The calculation can consider the Turnover (sales amount) or sold Quantity from the sales history.
To calculate a Variant Weight Curve
- Click the icon, enter Variant Weight Curves, and select the relevant link.
- Select an existing Variant Weight Curve and click Manage - Edit, or create a new Variant Weight Curve by clicking the Newaction. For more information, please refer to How to: Set Up Variant Weight Curve .
- Go to the Calculation FastTab, and select the Calculation Type.
- Select a value in the Date Calculation Type field.
- Enter the Start Date and End Date or Date Formula for Start Date and Date Formula for End Date depending on the selected Date Calculation Type.
- Enter values in the filter fields to narrow the calculation.
- Click the Calculate action.

Calculation Type | This field specifies whether the Variant Weight Curve calculation will based on Quantity or Turnover.

Date Calculation Type | This field specifies whether the starting date and ending date for the Variant Weight Curve calculation will be input directly or calculated based on the defined date formula. Date - Uses Start Date and End Date. Date Formula - Use a date formula for Start Date and End Date. Date Formula is more dynamic compared to Date because no specific dates are required, and it will always calculate backwards from the current WORKDATE, based on the defined date formula for Start Date and End Date. |
Start Date | This field is only visible if Date Calculation Type Date is used. It specifies the starting date of the Variant Weight Curve calculation. |
End Date | This field is only visible if Date Calculation Type Date is used. It specifies the ending date of the Variant Weight Curve calculation. |
Date Formula for Start Date | This field is only visible if Date Calculation Type Date Formula is used. It specifies the formula to calculate the starting date of the Variant Weight Curve calculation. The starting date will always be calculated based on the current WORKDATE. |
Date Formula for End Date | This field is only visible if Date Calculation Type Date Formula is used. It specifies the formula to calculate the ending date of the Variant Weight Curve calculation. The ending date will always be calculated based on the current WORKDATE. |
