How to: Edit Hierarchy Relations for Item Distribution

Item Distribution is a concept in Replenishment to define which Items are replenished to which Stores. This information is stored in the Item Distribution table which can be maintained on the Retail Item Card, Distribution FastTab.

Hierarchy Relations can be used to maintain this information in a simpler and faster way. Hierarchy Relations also let you update the relevant tables manually or via Scheduler Job.

To edit a Hierarchy Relation for Item Distribution maintenance

  1. Click the icon, enter Hierarchy Relation, and select the relevant link.
  2. Select a Hierarchy Relation with Usage Type Assortment, and click the Edit Hierarchy Relation action.
  3. Note: This page has the same functionality as described in How to: Edit Hierarchy Relations. This page, however, has one more field, Default Distribution Pattern in the General FastTab and two more functions under the Replenishment action menu, Update Item Distribution and Update Data Profiles. In the right Hierarchy Viewer FastTab, there are three more fields: Distribution Pattern, Dimension Pattern Code, and Replen. Data Profile Code.

To add a Distribution Pattern to a relation

There are two ways to add the distribution pattern to a relation.

If you create a new relation

  1. Fill in the Default Distribution Pattern field on the General FastTab by selecting an option value, for example Act.-Centr.-Calc..
  2. Select nodes in the left and right Hierarchy Viewers.
  3. Relate the nodes by clicking Add Relation (Active) under the Maintenance action menu.
  4. For the created Relation and all child Relations, the Distribution Pattern field will be filled with the value of the Default Distribution Pattern field.

If you modify an existing relation

  1. Select the node in the right Hierarchy Viewer.
  2. Change the Distribution Pattern field in the line.
  3. On the request page, click Yes if you want to update the field for this node and all child nodes.
  4. On the request page, click No if you want to update the field for this node only.

    Note: Make sure to maintain this field if you want to update the Item Distribution table in a later step. The Automatic Replenishment module only considers Items that have Stores, Store Groups, or Customers linked with a Distribution Pattern Act.-Centr.-Calc.

To add a Dimension Pattern code to a relation

  1. Select the node in the right Hierarchy Viewer.
  2. Change the Dimension Pattern Code field in the line.
  3. On the request page, click Yes if you want to update the field for this node and all child nodes.
  4. On the request page, click No if you want to update the field for this node only.

    Note: The maintenance of this field is optional.
